Mattias is simply the best!! If you're thinking of hiring him ... do it!! He prepared one of the best meals my family has ever had in celebration of my dad's 75th birthday. An amazing evening!

I hadn’t tasted his food yet but just got a good vibe! And he exceeded our expectations! We had a group of 12 people celebrating my elopement in Santa Barbara and each course was better than the last. He was easy to work with, quick to reply to emails, professional, friendly, and paced the dinner perfectly - not too slow, not too rushed. He explained each course and left the kitchen totally spotless after. He brought a lovely tablescape, all of the tableware, and kept the water filled all night. I don’t know how he does it ALL himself but he did! And the pricing is totally up-front and you don’t get stuck with any “surprises” at the end. We loved every minute of the experience. Highly recommend his short ribs with zinfandel bbq sauce! Great night!

“Chef Mattias was the consummate professional. We hosted a dinner for a birthday celebration. He was very responsive in helping organize the menu, including accommodating for one of our friends with a dietary restriction. The dishes we selected was very California-influenced, which meant fresh seasonal local ingredients. Overall, the meal was on par with any fine-dining experience, but more obviously far more intimate and rustic. Finally, the chef came with everything including silverware so it felt like a Michelin-starred kitchen and dining room was transported to your home.

Mattias cooked for us (8 people/late October) for my wife’s 50th birthday. He was easy to work with in advance, was prompt on arrival in our rental property, Worked quietly behind the scenes with ease and produced an absolutely fantastic meal. The mushroom soup and duck were Michelin star quality.
He worked around our schedule perfectly. And when done, the kitchen was spotless. Absolutely everything you want in an evening with a private chef.

10/10, amazing, fantastic! We had gotten an Airbnb at a secluded beach house and booked Mattias to cook our parent's 30th anniversary dinner. Communication went smoothly from start to finish. When he arrived, he took safety precautions and kept his distance and mask on (something that I really appreciated). He brought the dinnerware, table decor, and even printed out a nice menu at our request. Food was amazing and I loved that we were able to mix and match from his Farm Table menus. We had the butter lettuce salad (could eat this everyday!), the sweet corn soup (amazing flavors- sweetness of the corn was complemented with a kick of chili oil), the petit filet, and raspberry torte (with a sparkler to make it celebratory!). Every thing was amazing and perfectly portioned. At the end of dinner, he cleaned up which is such an added plus! Mattias is very personable and made the occasion so special. Will definitely look forward to working with him again :)

We had a lot of food issues in our party - allergies and food dislikes and he was able to adjust no problem. Everything he made was absolutely delicious.
